52 photos project 50
This weeks prompt on 52 Photos projects is Tangerine - a colour.
As I am not usually attracted to the colour orange, I was wondering whether I would see something to photograph. We have been away for a week or so over Easter and the afternoon light highlighted two gorgeous Tangarines in the garden that I just had to capture. So here they are
I will be back again soon to share some more photos from our holiday over Easter.

52 photo project 47 (10/2013)
The prompt for this week on 52 Photos Project is Light. As always I found it hard to choose just one. So here are some of the different lights I have captured. This first shot is of a wishing tree that was covered in twinkling lights.
The second is a street light at dusk. I love the tiny touch of the dying light on the building as well.

The third was created when I was learning to capture streaming car lights at night.. woohoo

52 Photo Project 45 (9/2013)
Horizon is the prompt for the 52 photo projects this week. Tonight I have returned from a night photography excursion and I am so excited to include one photo that I took tonight from Observatory Hill in Sydney.
The ones below are from previous excursions. Here is the Sydney Harbour Bridge also at night but not tonight..

52 Photos projects 44 (8/2013)
This week's prompt on 52 Photos Project is Harmony. I had great plans to seek out or create a wonderfully harmonious shot but I have been plagued with an injury to my right hand and now the left side of my back has gone into spasm in sympathy. While I am not sympathetic to either sides of my body, I did think, if only I could capture this on film and show how my body is totally out-of-Harmony..aah.
But time is running out, so I have searched my collection of photos to find an image that reflects Harmony. This one is from our holiday in Noosa last year. The full moon touches its light on a boat and some birds as it streams across the water. Maybe there is a message here that I need reminding of right now - so often in dark times you have to find your source of Light.

52 Photo projects 43 (7/2013)
This week's prompt on 52 Photos Projects is Love. I couldn't decide or choose so I have copied Bella and created a collage of my loves which includes my husband and son, my woman friends and sights that inspire me.

52 Photo project (6/2013)
The prompt for this week on 52 photo project is "Hearts". Naturally, this is one of my favourite prompts. My collecting of heart shaped rocks which then led to me photographing hearts, all started in Greece. On the island of Kythera, my dear friend Shell and I met the renowned Juliette de Bairacli Levy a herbalist / naturopath / gypsy. She told us that she lived near the beach which was the birthplace of Aphrodite and the only place in the world where you can find heart shaped rocks. We did. Ever since my eye has been drawn to hearts, heart-shaped rocks, hearts in nature and more recently urban hearts.
I often go out "heart hunting" and come home with only one shot. Then when I am walking without a camera I'll see several..so how to choose?
My favourite nature heart is this one. I was walking in the bush and decided to photograph interesting patterns in a dried patch of mud. When I got home, looking at the picture on my computer, I was about to discard the picture as uninteresting when I spied a tiny heart in the mud pattern. This is a highly cropped shot and it is a perfect heart.
This is my second favourite nature heart. This is a natural cavity in the side of Uluru, Ayers Rock in Central Australia. Instant love.
Finally here is my favourite urban heart, found on a garage wall in Bondi.. Loved that I had my camera with me on that wander.

52 Photo Projects (5/2013)
The theme on 52 Photo Projects this week is My Wish.
I am standing at the beginning of a new year where my heart's desire is to be bold and creative and step out bravely and with clarity of purpose.
I feel as though I am still unwilling to push out and lose sight of the shore just yet but I am slowly paddling into the unknown a little bit more each day ..
Here is an image that was so unexpected when I took the photo. It is symbolic of taking a punt and finding something wonderful. An inspiration for My Wish.

52 Photo Project (4/2013)
The prompt for this week's 52 Photo Project is to convert a photo to Black and White. I had a lot of trouble choosing. I enjoy the starkness and detail revealed in black and white as well as the contrast of a silouette.
My absolute favourite black and white photo is of ripples in a local park. I used a sport setting and took multiple shots after I threw a pebble into the water. Love this photo.
The next one is also a favourite: a reflection in water. Love the delicate lines in this one.
I have been in love with dragonflies for some time and when I was given one to photograph, I tried to be a bit arty in cropping this shot. the body is still attached.
Finally here are two photos that I took at dawn at our annual outdoor sculpture exhibition in September 2012.

Reflection Coffs Harbour December 2012 |
The prompt for this week's 52 Photo Projects is "Wide Open Spaces". I found two photos in my collection that spoke to me. This first one above, I took while on holiday in December 2012. The sky, reflected in the lagoon speaks to me of endless possibility which is one way I imagine this theme.
The one below was taken in the Northern Territory, Central Australia at dawn. The original was a bit blurry but when I added a watercolour filter, it looked dreamy which also says something to me about Wide Open Spaces.

Nature detail January 2013 |
The prompt from 52 Photo Projects is "Right Now", being present.
One of my goals in 2013 is to Embrace Stillness, to look for beauty in the everyday and when possible photograph it. So this prompt encouraged me to find beauty in the ordinary.
I was inspired when I took this photo to think "Everything Old is New Again". I had to look it up to reference this quote and was surprised to find it is a lyric from a Peter Allen song. I am sure it is also just an overused phrase. Still, it feels so appropriate for this prompt.
